Urban Communities Authority held a seminar under the title
of "spreading the use of energy-efficient lighting systems in new
cities" during which some projects used in new cities have been
discussed . The seminar aims at raising awareness of efficient
lighting systems in new cities inside the green gatherings
especially in 6 October ,Sheikh Zayed and New Cairo cities
represented by the boards of trustees of the cities , the Union of
occupants ,investors associations and and urban communities
dwellers so that they can know those systems and how to choose the
appropriate specifications , current prices existing in the Egyptian
market and producing companies.
Eng. Kamal Fahmy vice chairman of Urban Communities
Authority said , " new cities such new Alameen, new Toshka and East
Port Said will be fully light by solar energy ".
Dr. Hend Faroug , the executive director of the central
unit for sustainable cities added , " the green areas within
urban communities will start using solar energy for lighting
streets and buildings ".
