1-Location

It was established by presidential decree (191/2000). It is 15 Km far from Almaadi and 10 Km from Nasr City .

2-General plan

The total area of the city  is 70  thousand acres which are built up area (Residential areas - services -  industrial -tourism and recreation ....) .

3- Housing sector

- Number of land plots 46346 ( villas- buildings – Families ) including beit el watan

-The total number of  housing units is  69764  of which 34034 implemented  by New Urban Communities Authority  and 35730  implemented by private sector.

- Offering  3912 units in Madinety by prices between 6000 & 7000

- Offering 1488 units in El Rehab city average prices between 7000 & 8000

Population:

Current   :  1500  thousand  inhabitants

Target     :  4 million  inhabitants

-The number of  service buildings implemented  by New Urban Communities Authority is 138 :

5- Utilities and infrastructure sector

Drinking water:

-The city is fed with pure drinking water (  360 thousand  m3/d) by  Obour plant  .

- A mixed water plant with the capacity of 15 thousand m3/d has been implemented.

- The first phase of a purification plant   with the capacity of 500 thousand m3/d ( total capacity is 2 million m3/d )   is being implemented  . 

- Length of finished networks: 2050 km.

-Length of finished  irrigation networks: 704 km

Sanitation :

-3 mixed  treatment plants with the capacity of 8 thousand  m3/d have been implemented.

-A mechanical  treatment plant with the capacity of 100  thousand  m3/d have been implemented.

- The first phase of the new treatment  plant  with the capacity of 250 thousand m3/d ( total capacity is 1.25 million m3/d )   is being implemented  .-An oxidation pond with discharge of 15 thousand m3/d is being implemented.

0-Length of finished networks: 1170 km.

Electricity :

-4 transformer stations with total capacity of 425 M. F. A have been implemented.

-Length of finished networks:  9787.795 km.

Roads and communications :

- There are 5   communication centers with total capacity of 600 lines in the city.

-Length of finished road networks: 1150 km.

-Length of finished Communication networks:  1000 km.

Agriculture :

It includes cultivation of green areas (1051.580.

 acres ) and forestation of roads .

6- Industry sector

- 1621 INDUSTRIAL PLOTS (1090 ACRES )

-There are 87  factories  in the city by 199 working licenses .
